ASICON offers the largest and finest podium to showcase the scientific work of the members of the Association of Surgeons of India. As the conference returns to Ahmedabad, we invite original papers, videos, and posters across all surgical specialties — for surgeons, faculty, and postgraduate students alike.

Your work will carry forward the spirit of Reinventing the Surgeon: research, innovation, and technique that shape the future of the profession. Submissions are accepted in the competitive and non-competitive categories below.

Certificate of Merit

Open to trainees and young surgeons below 40 years. The first three positions in every category will receive a Certificate of Merit from ASI. All single case reports are accepted in the poster category only.

Best State Chapter Paper

One best paper selected and endorsed by the State Chapter. Endorsement confirming the authenticity of the paper is required.

Best Research Paper

Fundamental or clinical research on any subject related to surgery is welcome in this category.

Any original work carried out by the presenter and team is acceptable in this category.

Presented exclusively as E-Posters. All single case reports are included in this category only.

Guidelines

Abstract Format

  1. Prepare the abstract in Word format using Times New Roman Letters.
  2. Title in ALL CAPITALS; text in single spacing, font size 12 for both.
  3. The abstract should contain less than 300 words.
  4. It must include Aims & Objectives, Methods, Results & Conclusion.
  5. Comments such as "Results will be discussed" will not be accepted.
  6. You may add a line diagram or table within the abstract.

Covering Letter & Uploads

  • A covering letter with a signed declaration that the work was carried out by the presenter (and team, if any) and has not been presented or published earlier.
  • The covering letter must state the chosen category and the presenter's ASI membership number.
  • Upload the abstract, covering letter with declaration, proof of registration, and proof of age (for competitive categories) to the ASICON 2026 portal.

Proof of registration in ASICON 2026 is mandatory for any paper to be accepted.

Before You Submit

General Instructions

  1. Last date for receipt of abstract is 30th September 2026.
  2. The presenting author must be a member of ASI.
  3. Not more than 2 papers will be accepted from the same presenter.
  4. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign the paper to any session it deems fit.
  5. Proof of registration in ASICON 2026 is a must for accepting any paper.
  1. A covering letter with a declaration by the presenter is required, confirming the work is original and previously unpublished.
  2. The covering letter must mention the intended category and the presenter's ASI membership number.
  3. Submit all documents through the official ASICON 2026 portal www.asicon2026.com.
Review & Selection

General Rules

  1. Received papers will be acknowledged immediately by the office. If there is any deficiency, the same will be intimated.
  2. Only those papers received with full specifications will be considered.
  3. The Selection Committee has the right to shift a paper into any category based on its merit; the decision of the committee shall be final.
  4. Once selection is complete, presenters of all accepted papers will be intimated of the assigned category, format, rules, and regulations.
